Green River Fishing

Though we would have loved to get on a great summer trip, work this year made that somewhat difficult so first of the fall my dad and I hit the road for The Green River in Utah to see if we couldn’t find some good weather and dry fly fishing. We gave ourselves a five day window to try and stick some of the many Green River fish. The river boasts an unprecedented 8,000 to 22,000 fish per mile in the canyon we were fishing. You can literally see trout all over the river, but getting them to take your fly is an all together different story. We unfortunately saw some tough weather during our stay there. Lots of rain and wind which made rowing and casting rather challenging. We were lucky to see some excellent weather on our final day, and the fishing really picked up for a nice send off to a great trip. Though not quite summer we did manage to drag a lot of fish to the surface.
